A Little Bit Single This Christmas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Haha, not really. It’s cold and Tesco have so much junk food on offer even my belly gets confused as to what treats it wants.

Often with my fellow singletons AKA the Blobbieswe collectively discuss single life - How difficult it is meeting men? Where are the nice ones? What dating apps are best (Bumble & POF got the thumbs up by the way) what dates we have coming up.… you get it, general girly chit chat.

Which leads me on to Christmas, and yes I know it’s only November, but when you’re single and a women, you start thinking of this in August, then when Christmas is over we’re thinking Valentine’s Day
Although everyone would agree they enjoy their own space, sometimes the thought of not settling down can be quite daunting.
I am already preparing myself for the dreaded questions-

“So when are you going to settle down & get married?”
”Why are you still single”?
“You still not met anyone?”
“Don’t you want kids?”

I....have....no....idea.... I can feel my eyes rolling already!
To be honest I’ve never understood how people expect you to answer.

It’s not all that bad, So here’s to why being single this Christmas IS A GOOD THING!!!

It’s easier on your budget
It’s no secret that buying gifts can wipe your bank account quicker than a trip down Hotel Chocolat, but when you’re in a relationship, you not only find yourself getting them a present, but you also start getting the parents, brothers, sister and the long lost cousins gifts too.
So this year go treat yourself. You deserve it!

You can eat more
There is no one to judge the muffin top that appears after you’ve demolished all the chocolateby 11am on Christmas morning.
The season’s theme is to “eat, drink and be merry,” So just ensure you get those pj’s in the next size up, because eating, drinking and being merry is a must this year.

You’re in the majority
First, it is important to know that you are not alone in your aloneness. In fact, singletons now make up more than half of the adult population in Britain. So while you may think you are the sad single one, the truth is that you’re actually quite normal (despite what your timeline on Facebook is showing you). #instacouples #relationshipgoals #boydidgood

Enjoy yourself
For many it’s known that depression, anxiety and Christmas go together like Jam, scones and clotted cream and being lonely is one of the main causes, so whether it means booking the next flight out of here, or just sitting in your jammies watching boxsets with the festive edition Bakewell tarts just remember to take some "you time".

You get to be selfish
The best thing about being single is you're allowed to be selfish - you're accountable to less people. Yes, you don't get those snuggle sofa days but you do get to go out for brunch with the girls and drink Prosecco the wrong side of midday just for the hell of it and you will be waking up Christmas morning, starfished across the bed in those very unflattering tartan pj’s, not worrying who’s family you are spending the day with - just knowing that Jude Law & Cameron Diaz are ready and waiting in your Sky Planner.
So don’t go all Bridget Jones - embrace the festivities and create your own traditions.

Being single is not the end of the world. You are happy and healthy with or without a partner and there's always that chance for a little snog under the mistletoe.

Here's to all the fun drunken Christmas parties :)

Happy Nat :)

I feel GREAT!!

Beginning of Feb, I had well untruly had enough. Six weeks later, I feel like I am getting back to myself. I am motivated, happy and on a bloody roll.

I stripped back basics and started my journey all over again. I have lost 8lbs – some might think ‘That’s not much’ but I am over the moon.

I cook, I plan and I enjoy it.

Recipe of the month:
Joe Wicks Chicken Pie. OHHHH my – absolutely delish!

Tip of the month:
Have someone to do it with. Work out with friends, cook nice meals together and share tips!

 Diet of the month:
‘SOOOOO…..DIETING’

I am sure we can all relate to the words ‘I am going on a diet’

We try the most ridiculous things, because Sally’s aunties, best friend’s sister lost 2 stone sucking 2 bloody lemons a day.

We think being on a diet should be punishing and unhappy. IT’S NOT TRUE.

 Give yourself a break!

Set a goal – a realistic goal, and work one step at a time.

Stop thinking it’s a diet and make it a lifestyle change - still allow yourself some of the foods you like, but have them in moderation.

If you want a choccie bar, then you have one. Just keep it at one! Don’t completely deny yourself. Restricting yourself will not help you in the long run. You will only find yourself down aisle 23 in Tesco, loading that basket up with all the £1 sharing bags ready to start your binging mission!!!

Over the last six weeks, I have got myself back in a good mindset. I can now see what I had been doing wrong over the last two years.

-    -  Going on ‘Diets’

-     - Not eating enough! I would think the less I ate, the more weight I would lose.

-      -Skipping meals. Not eating lunch and dinner does not make up for the day before of eating McDonalds and cake.

-     - Spending most the weekend eating sh*t. Just because it’s the weekend. Then I would feel guilty…. This led into a vicious cycle of munching. You end up sabotaging it, bingeing and ultimately giving up. Then waiting for Monday to start ready for your new diet.

-     - Not planning my meals – Now, the evening before, I plan breakfast, lunch & dinner. I even plan what snacks to pack in my handbag.

-      - Exercising my ass off. Yes exercise is important, but so is eating healthy. I just didn’t have the right balance.

You live and learn though ey.

Here’s to another shifting another 8lbs J J

The battle of the chub

The saga continues!
'I'm on a diet' Story of my bloody life! Usually said after demolishing a pack of biccies the night before.
My problem is i am addicted to sugar and i binge eat,

If you know me, or have read my previous blogs, you will know i lost 7 and a half stone. Well I've now put on 18.5lbs of that back on, and to be honest i'm not keen on it sticking around.
'I cant notice it' the response i get from my mum. Well mum... my clothes don't quite agree with you there. THEY DON'T FIT!!!!! Lol.

3 weeks ago i went to put my trusty black dress on, and to my absolute horror it did not zip up and even if it did, i looked like a sack of potatoes from the front.
Sooooo The Little Black Dress Mission begins to get my custard cream ass, back in that dress..

Febs plan -
Keep a food diary.
Reduce sugar intake
Prepare my meals. Lunch in particular - grabbing a meal deal at lunch is my big downfall.

Last but not least BINGE EATING. I am terrible for this! A lot of people took part in Dry Jan, so i am making up my own and doing Binge Free Feb. Feel free to join. #Bingefreefeb
28 days of no blowouts (I didn't choose the shortest month on purpose - haha 😉)

I am all set to go. I have my trusty app Sweat with Kayla Itsines - Highly recommend if you're like me and actually enjoy a good workout/challenge - along with a healthy eating plan with Slimming World.

Challenge Nearly finished

Sooooo the 30 days is up and so far I am happy with the results :) Considering..... I had to have 4 days off (ickle bit poorly) so I plan on continuing for the next 4 days before I weigh my self and take my after pictures. In that 4 days I was a rather naughty girl... birthday cake, pizza, chips. You name it I had it!! Oppsies. Everything in moderation though.
Besides me being naughty I can definitely see a difference. The flabby belly is getting a lot more toned!!!
I have always been my biggest critic so for me to notice and feel the difference is always a plus.

The 30 days challenge consisted of clean eating, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and Body weight circuits.
I  included crunches and squats on a daily basis, obviously your body needs breaks so I would do 3 days on then a day off. Each day I would up the amount  I would do.

Getting a nice peachy ass seems to be a lot harder than I ever anticipated, then again i thought this could all happen over night. I will not give up!!! I soon will have a killer bum and maybe some nice Abs to go with it ;)

I have 4 weeks until my holiday and 4 weeks until I get myself into a bikini. This month I am setting my self the task of a 30 day bikini diet. I will be letting you know how I get on.

30 day Make Fat Cry Challenge.... Lets do this :)

Giving myself a little bit of a boost this month and starting the 30 day make fat cry challenge. Its all about clean eating and HIIT ekkkkkk.
Today is my 1st day and its only 10am so no complaints yet.

Last night i took some before pictures so i can get a better look at the results (there will be results hahaaa i m positive about this)

With only 9 weeks until my holiday and 9 weeks until i MUST reach my goal. I have always wanted to wear a bikini on the beach and feel comfortable so i am doing everything possible to make this happen.
Its also 12 weeks until my 10k race for life so training has also began. My aim is to complete the 10k in 45 mins.... maybe pushing myself a little bit too hard but nothing is impossible. Last year i completed this in 1hr 10 and was around 2 and a half stone heavier.... being lighter must help lol.

My first little blog

So this is my first little blog hmmmm....
With only 11lbs to go before I reach my target I am starting to get a bit impatient, yes I know it's not going to happen over night!! (wish it did - this process would've been a lot easier) But I have to say just starting a diet is probably the easiest part, but only when you have your dedication hat on. A lot of people ask me how on earth I've lost 7 stone as they've struggled just to get past the 1st month. My advice is.... DEDICATION! You can't do this half-heartedly, don't get me wrong I haven't been strict 24/7 and yes I often cheated myself especially with those little, yummy wine gums that would accidently fall into my mouth... Oops! But the key is one naughty thing isn't the end of your diet, you control what you put in your mouth. It's about choice! So if you cheat don't worry, but just remember you have that hat on and forget what you've just eaten and carry on eating healthy for the rest of that day.

I am currently in the gym training 6-7 times a week. This is a mix of weight training and cardio until i have lost the excess weight then i will go 5-6 times and just weight train to tone up those unwanted wobbley bits.... which i might add are as stubborn as anything. I think i am like most women who want a flat stomach, toned armed and to get rid of those fat bits at the top of your legs!! I mean what is that horrible bit, its like two chunks of chub on the tops of your legs???
My mission is to get rid of those horrible parts and to be happy with my body.

I will keep you posted as to how this goes mean while check out my Instagram natsladex
